I am sick and tired of being left twiddling my thumbs, waiting for a reply, when the other person in a long conversation has decided to sign off without a warning. It takes five seconds to type ‘sorry, got to go’.

There are obviously times when the wife’ suddenly walks in and you have to close quickly, but usually it is just thoughtlessness.

Excuses have ranged from ‘my mother was ill’ ......’the kids wanted feeding’ ......’I was late for work’. ..... ‘I had to put petrol in the car’ ...... ‘ I was tired’ ...... ‘ the kids were playing up’ .... etc etc

In all of those cases a quick five second message ‘gotta go’ would have sufficed.

Well it depends. What one must realise is that not everybody's life revolves entirely around this place and in waiting for your reply their phone could ring, and some phone calls just can't be ignored for talk of rumpy pumpy. I don't know about you but I find it hard to type one handed whilst balancing a phone in the other and concentrating on whoever is having a meltdown on the other end, before rushing out the door to deal with it.

 

I totally sympathise - your profile states that you have parachuted, abseiled and been in a helicopter whilst in the forces, so it is indeed a problem that you are unable to quickly type - ‘phone’ before picking up the telephone - especially as the other person is going to have a ‘meltdown’ - what a good job they didn’t give you an office job - seems to me that thou doth protest too much - having to type ‘phone’ whilst preparing to answer the telephone and also concentrating on the melting person with whom you are chatting must cause a terrible amount of multi tasking - so yes, of course you just switch off and leave the recipient in limbo wondering why the hell you have gone and not replying.

 

I'm guilty of doing that it's impossible to live online I tried it would be easier if I wasn't a hands on type person if the only contact I had with people was online it would be different I usually logout when people are around

 

For me, it all depends on the understanding of the "chat". If we are just replying to messages when we can, then of course there is no understanding of a timely response.

If someone is sexting or role playing live, then I agree, it is pretty rude to leave the other person hanging, waiting for a response. I don't do those kinds of chats, but if I did, I would ditch that particular person and not chat with them again after that. There are plenty of others here that want a female to chat with that will be happy to get their chance for a naughty chat partner.

 

I seriously doubt anyone I message with expects me to reply in any certain amount of time.

 

I do empathize with what you said and while have had women 'ghost' me only to message me weeks or even months later it has never bothered me. Yeah it would be nice for them to say 'sorry got to go' etc neither am I so arrogant to believe that they should reply right away or within few minutes even if in middle of chat (normal or sexual). Whatever reason they give me I take it at face value, after all I dont know what happened, could be true or false. If its someone I enjoy chatting me I will chat with them if they message me again, if not I will simply ignore them or say am no longer interested.

 

When I PM, I do get anxious for a reply, I know people have lives though, most of the time its nothing that cant wait, not like a, PM interuptus

If I've been chatting a while I do usually warn them that pain will make me disappear suddenly, and for a while. If that's not acceptable, it's best they don't wait.

 

Leaving a text/pm without saying goodby is like hanging up on someone...remember the old phones

 

I don't really have any long conversations with people here but I've been guilty of pulling the Irish goodbye.
It's a real thing...look it up.

 

I think it all depends. I mean like Dee said if you're having some kind of sexual play or chat then i say leaving someone without warning could be a bit rude. Also if you are both on at the same time tlking. Then it is nice to try to say bye or gotta go. There are times though when people can't always do that. Someone's kids walk in, some kind of emergency, dinner is burning, your pet needs to go out. (Idk don't have one) just saying.

Things do come up that sometimes people can't respond. The worst is when you get cussed out for suddenly leaving for some reason that you couldn't help.

It all depends on the quality of the chat. I mean, really - doesn't it? Here, I am only referring to sexual chat, as this is a sexual forum.

This is just me, but I don't chat - there was a time that I tried it out, but it's just not for me - no matter what the context is - I honestly don't give a fuck about sexy/dirty chat. If you are not a viable person for a real life sexual meeting, I get bored really quickly. To me, it's pointless, so I just simply cut off any opportunity for that to happen.

The only sex for me is skin on skin - same room, same bed, in person nasty.

I don't even get off masturbating to that chat shit- or phone sex.

But like I said, that's just me.

 

I tried the sexy chat a couple times. The last time, the responses from the other person got longer and longer, and finally after waiting so long I dozed off. Woke up to find a reply, of sorts, finally, then question marks every four or five minutes, then got chewed out and told never ask to chat with her again. Damn, I could only stare at the screen so long. Nowadays, I don't bother with long chats, at least not about sex. It's more fun in person anyway.
