Well, it seems to me that Britain had a love/hate relationship with the EU ever since it joined. It kinda always felt like the UK wanted to be part of it, but never really commit to it, hence "special provision" and all that. And the discussion about leaving the EU has come up time and time again. So there must be something about British politics or society that is somewhat fundamentally opposed to whatever they think the EU stands for.

Let's put it this way: You don't hear often about Italians / Germans / French / Poles or whatever wanting to leave the EU. So, I dunno. I just wish the Brits would make up their damn mind already.

Personally, I'd love for them to stay. I like Britain and the Brits, and would kinda hate to feel like they're not part of our big family anymore.

 

The UK's relationship with Europe can be summed up in one newspaper headline........

Thus did he dismiss the utopian dreams of the forerunners of the EU and the subsequent “naive Euro-enthusiastic visions of total integration”.

I think the Brexit dream is over. The government has completely exploited the murder of an MP to rally support for her beliefs, kill the momentum of the leave campaign, and brandish Leave supporters as xenophobic and racist. They have lied every step of the way with scaremongering stories, which went as far as "The potential to cause WWIII" and "The end of Western civilisation". You have prominent people who have "decided" to switch sides in the week leading up to the referendum because of how people have "acted and behaved". As if they actually base their decisions on the behaviour of the campaigners rather than the issues we face. It's absurd, underhand, disgusting tactics. But I knew from the beginning this battle would not be conducted fairly. Government funded media the BBC is heavily biased toward remain, the government used 9 million pounds of tax payers money posting remain propaganda to people's homes at the start of the campaign. (The entire allowance for each campaign is 7 million pounds, and the government uses 9 million which doesn't even count for some reason which no one can explain). The EU funds the Arts, and various University projects, buying the voices of well respected people in the country. And it's taken its toll.
To all you Americans out there which think the EU is good. How would you like it if your laws were made in Mexico, and your courts were ruled from Panama. And your electorate had no ability to vote in people able to propose or repeal any legislation. And you have to pay them a substantial fee for this "privilege".

 

All this drama, all due to Sharia... bizarre.

 

It does make me laugh when you are called racist for wanting to leave the EU - so we have a policy that by being in the predominantly white Caucasian EU - you are free to stay, work and claim benefits in the UK - irrespective of your abilities - where as if you are a talented Asian, African, carribean, American, and yes even Australian - then you have to meet our requirements - or forget it - so actually staying in the EU is pro-racism - I say one rule - a points based immigration system for ALL - irrespective of whether you are a white European or black African

 

Why do all the other countries have to "tell" the UK what to do? They should all fuck off. The EU is a sinking ship, there's no need for the UK to go under too.

Anyone who has taught in a multi racial public school knows that races exist, and that some races are superior to others. As a rule Jews are more intelligent than Orientals, who are more intelligent than white Gentiles, who are more intelligent than Hispanics and Arabs, who are more intelligent than Negroes. There are exceptions, but they are exceptions to the obvious pattern.

Some races are characterized by qualities that contribute to sucessful civilizations. Other races are characterized by sagging IQ's and jaw dropping rates of crime and illegitimacy. These differences are genetic and caused by evolving in response to different population pressures. I call races in the latter category "sub human races." No country benefits from the presence of sub human races.
