The Vikings go to New Orleans; the Jets will go to Indianapolis.

It would be ironic if, after the Colts took so much flak for fielding a weakened team against NYJ, they were to lose the Championship game to a team that, in many people's eyes, only got in because of the Colts letting up.

January 17, 2010 (GREENWOOD, S.C.) -- Gaines Adams, a defensive lineman for the Chicago Bears who was an all-American at Clemson, died Sunday in South Carolina, the Bears said. He was 26.

The team said Adams died Sunday morning at Self Regional Hospital in his hometown of Greenwood, S.C. "We are stunned and saddened by the news of Gaines' passing," the Bears said in a statement. "Our prayers are with his family during this difficult time."
Adams was selected fourth overall in the 2007 NFL draft by Tampa Bay, but was traded to the Chicago Bears in October 2009. He had not been able to live up to expectations that he would revive the Buccaneers' once-feared pass rush, having just 17 tackles and one sack in 15 games this season.

Well, things are shaping up fairly well, as the last of the teams that I truly can't stand went down the tubes yesterday.

Its sad to hear someone die at a early age like him.:(

On another note one of my picks (Chargers) lost yesterday so im going to replace them with the Jets!

The Saints on the other hand are doing very well.

Before last weekend, no one picked the final four. Good thing you folks aren't betting in here.

So we have the Vikings against the Saints and the Colts against the Jets.

I'm picking Saints v Colts in the SB. Can I get some action on this?

How are you throwing the vikings off that easily lol?
The reason drew breese is able to be such a good QB is because he never has anyone at his throat. You must have never seen the vikings defense in action. If pat williams isnt on him, then jared allen, or ray edwards will be. Not to mention having one of the leading rushers, one of the all time best Qb's, the second best WR, and first best special teams returner in percy harvin.
The saint's may win, the vikings may win. But this will not be a huge blowout game. The cowboys where supposed to whip us Vikings
    We killed then 35-3.

You may be right, but someone won't be.

The game should be a good one, probably another high scoring one. Colts and Jets? I really don't think the Jets will show up.

a few weeks ago the jets played the colts and the colts handed the jets the game as the colts placed the second stringers in and handed the jets the game but with all the first stringers in for the entire game the colts will win and as far as the saints and vikings it wont matter as the colts are going all the way

You mean the same Viking defense that got shredded by Kurt Warner in the regular season?
Sure, the Vikings play excellent D, but they do have holes.
The Ravens put up over 30 points on the Vikings in the Humpdome and the Ravens are hardly an offensive juggernaut.

Peterson only ran for 40 yards on 14 carries against the Cowboys.
Remember the last time Favre was in the NFC Championship game?
The Packers were playing the Giants at Lambeau and Favre threw an interception in overtime that led to the go ahead score by the Giants.

    I'm picking the Saints.
Gregg Williams has done a fantastic job with the Saints defense and Sean Peyton knows how to make the most out of his offensive weapons.
The Saints D likes picking the ball off and Favre has thrown more interceptions than any other quarterback in the history of the game.
While Favre has had a phenomenal year, even by the standards of his own first ballot Hall of Fame career, there is one quarterback in the NFL with a higher quarterback rating--Drew Brees.
The difference for the Saints is that they finally have a defense that compliments their offense.
Darren Sharper knows Brett Favre very well and he will be waiting for him to make a mistake.

Conventional wisdom has it that the Colts will beat the Jets in the AFC Championship.
The 14-2 Colts are playing at home, they have the league MVP in Peyton Manning at quarterback, and even Rex Ryan gave the Jets up for dead and said publicly that the Jets were out of the playoffs toward the end of the regular season. A thorough and logical analysis of the Colts and the Jets points to only one likely outcome--the Colts will beat the Jets.

I am picking the Jets to beat the Colts.
Not because the Jets beat the Colts backups in Indy, not because the Jets beat the Chargers in San Diego, and not because the Jets are a better football team than the Colts.

Ever wonder why with all the talent the Colts have that they have only won one Championship with Peyton Manning at the helm?
Peyton Manning's quarterback rating in the playoffs is much lower than his rating in the regular season.
If the Colts are such a great team, why is it that the last two times they played the Chargers in the playoffs they lost?

Rex Ryan and the Jets figured out how to do something that Tony Dungy and Peyton Manning could not-- how to beat the Chargers in a playoff game. True, the Chargers have a history of choking when they have home field advantage in the playoffs, but it doesn't change the fact that the 9-7 Jets beat the 13-3 Chargers in San Diego.

There is nothing more dangerous than a group of well organized and disciplined people who are strongly motivated and have absolutely nothing to lose.

    Eat my words?
    Fine.
For once, Peyton Manning and the Colts did not choke in the playoffs and actually managed to win the AFC championship.

Yes, the Colts beat a 9-7 wild card at home against a team that backed into the playoffs with help from the Colts.

Pretty happy you didn't see the Chargers, aren't you?
What with the Chargers knocking the Colts out of the playoffs the last two times they played them...
